Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV is a full length CGI animated film released in theaters on August 19, 2016 and on home video on October 4 the same year and takes place in between the events of the video game Final Fantasy XV.
At first, I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie seeing as CG animated Final Fantasy films usually have a negative reception, with the biggest contender being 2001's Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. However after watching it I was wrong. One of the first things that I have state is the animation. The animation looked almost realistic that it looks like actual actors took part in the movie.
According to developers of Final Fantasy XV, people don't have to watch the movie to enjoy the game and vice versa, however playing the game and watching the movie would provide a better experience since both show a different perspective of the entire story of Final Fantasy XV. Overall, it was a very plesant experience when it came to watching the movie that it pushed me to eventually play Final Fantasy XV once I have the time and I give it an eight out of ten because of it.
If you wish to watch it yourself, there are two ways in doing so. You could purchase the movie on its own at around the $20 price range, and also has an Amazon exclusive steelbook edition which also comes with the five episode animated series Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV. The other way you could obtain the movie is by purchasing the deluxe edition of Final Fantasy XV which was the way I obtained the movie, and contains both Final Fantasy XV and Kingsglaive along with with some bonus content for the game. Personally, I would spend the $90 to get the deluxe edition of Final Fantasy XV as once you're finished with one, you could experience the other side of the story.
